In order to receive the student registration rates, you must declare that you are fully enrolled in a program of study at the above indicated institution and declare that you are eligible for student rates to attend the 2017 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Parasitologists.

Marc Dresden Student Travel (MDST) Grants/Student Paper Competition

 

Students must be ASP members to be eligible for Marc Dresden Student Travel Grants.

Students who are non-members may join ASP online or by mail by completing the membership application and submitting the required dues.

There is an application form that must be completed to be eligible for the Marc Dresden Student Travel Grant Competition and Best Student Presentation Award. Please read guidelines and follow the link below to submit an online application.

ASP student member guidelines

1. Students applying for a Marc Dresden Travel Grant Award are required to submit an abstract of their presentation.
2. These abstracts will be judged in order to determine the recipients of the travel grant awards for each year.
3. As the number of awards is limited, ONLY abstracts for ORAL PRESENTATIONS will be considered.
4. Criteria used for judging abstracts include: scientific merit (originality and impact), clear title and purpose, inclusion of results, and conclusion.
5. The monetary amount of the travel awards varies from year to year but typically ranges from $100-400.
6. Students entering in the Best Student Presentation Award competition are eligible for ONE of two monetary Outstanding Student Paper Awards AND one of two non-monetary Meritorious Student Paper Awards.
